How Do You Actually Make Money Online?
Sep 11, 2019
Ever since I started The Kidd Group, naturally, I have talked to a lot of people who would love to start an online business, work from anywhere, and not have a boss.
Needless to say, they all have the same question. “How do I start?”
So, I figured I would go ahead and write up an answer to that question.
Now, this isn’t going to be a step by step guide, we will simply tell you how people are making tons of money online.
There are 3 main revenue models that people have built their business on. Let’s go over each one in a little depth.
Simply enough, eCommerce essentially means online retail. Amazon is the largest eCommerce company in the world.
Ecommerce represents any kind of sale that happens on your website. Whether it is a digital product, like an ebook or a guide, a physical product that you made, or a physical product that you are drop-shipping.
What is Drop-Shipping? Great question.
Drop-Shipping is when you sell a product on your website without actually having the inventory.
??? No inventory??? Yes…
Instead, you send the order from the customer straight to the manufacturer or distributor and they will ship it straight to your customer's door.
This means you can start a store or sell your products, without ever having to buy it in bulk first.
A lot of people will make money off of their blogs by selling advertising space. This revenue model is pretty clear cut.
You would start a blog on whatever topic you like, create content so you start to come up on Google’s search results. Then when your viewer sees an ad, you get paid.
Most commonly, people use AdSense for this.
Adsense is Google’s advertising platform. You would just create an Adsense account, create the custom dimension space on your website, and Google will automatically place an ad on your site that is relevant to the viewer.
Another great way to make money with ads is to connect with other businesses in the same niche or topic of your blog, and sell them private ad space or sponsored blog posts.
Often, you can make more money doing this because your blog is relevant to their product.
Affiliate Marketing is another great way to make money online.
Like Ad Revenue, you would get paid for promoting other people's products. However, it is different in a pretty keyway.
With affiliate marketing, you will send viewers to the product of another company, and when they purchase that product, you get credit and a commission for the sale.
So the difference is with ads, you get paid for placing the ad, with affiliate marketing, you don’t get paid until you actually create a sale. Because affiliate marketing is a little less certain, the payout is much higher.
The most notable affiliate marketer is Amazon. With Amazon’s affiliate program, you can get a 5-10% on any product a viewer buys within 24 hours of clicking your link.
That means if you recommend a book, and that person goes on amazon, buys the book, and then goes ahead and buys a lawnmower or whatever, you would also get a commission on the lawnmower.
We hope that gives you a better picture of how people are making money online.
Be creative! You can use multiple revenue models on the same business!
For example, at The Kidd Group, not only do we create products like courses and a membership community, and we also often recommend a lot of helpful tools like FreeeUp.
FreeeUp is the platform we use to find Virtual Assistance that helps us run our business for us.
And yes, going through that link will help us make more money.
PS. FreeeUP is completely free to make an account and their professional freelancers are pre-vetted for skills and communication.
